Frequently Asked Questions

Every question we get asked before someone decides to work with us — answered.

WE MAY HAVE SOME ANSWERS

How does pricing work?
Button arrow

We price three ways depending on engagement type: fixed-scope for defined projects, time-and-materials for exploratory or ongoing work, and retainer for Platform Operations and continuous iteration. We don't publish rates — scope varies too much to be meaningful. A 30-minute call is the fastest way to get a real number.

How fast can you start?
Button arrow

Quickly. Most engagements kick off with a scoping conversation within a few business days of first contact. From there, discovery can begin within one to two weeks depending on scope and readiness. We've launched full product builds in as little as eight weeks from a standing start — so if you're under time pressure, tell us upfront. We'll tell you honestly what's achievable.

Who will I actually be working with day-to-day?
Button arrow

You'll work directly with our team — designers, engineers, and product leads, not account managers acting as middlemen. Our approach is embedded, not handed off. For most engagements, you'll have a dedicated lead point of contact and direct access to the people doing the work. Our team operates across time zones, which gives us coverage flexibility without the communication gaps that come with pure offshore models.

Do you sign NDAs?
Button arrow

Yes, without hesitation. Confidentiality is standard practice, not a special request. We'll sign mutual NDAs before any substantive conversation about your product, codebase, or business. If you want one in place before your first call, just ask.

Where is RightShift based?
Button arrow

Our primary offices are in Atlanta and Georgia. Our team operates globally — across the US, Europe, and South Asia — giving us 24/7 execution coverage without sacrificing the communication quality that comes with a centralized, US-led operation. Leadership is US-based and accessible.

What's the best way to start a conversation?
Button arrow

The contact page is the fastest path. Fill out the form with a few lines about what you're building and where you are in the process — we'll route you to the right person and respond within one business day. If you're not ready for a full conversation yet, that's fine too. Tell us what you're working on and we'll take it from there.

What does RightShift actually build?
Button arrow

Full-stack digital products — web apps, mobile apps, internal platforms, and AI-integrated systems. We handle the full lifecycle: strategy, design, engineering, and post-launch operations. We're not an agency that hands you wireframes. We're a team that ships software.

How is RightShift different from a typical dev agency?
Button arrow

Most agencies take a brief and execute. We embed. RightShift is a full-stack product studio — meaning our designers, engineers, and AI specialists operate as an extension of your team, not a vendor on the outside. We've shipped 50+ products, saved clients $20M+ in development costs, and maintained a 95% client retention rate. The difference shows up in the outcomes, not just the deliverables.

Do you work with early-stage companies or only established ones?
Button arrow

Both. We work with founders building their first MVP, Series A teams scaling fast, and Fortune 500 enterprises running transformation programs. Our four business lines — Product Studio, Accelerator, Ventures, and Corporate Innovation — are built specifically so we can meet companies at whatever stage they're in, without forcing them into a one-size model.

What's your approach to AI integration?
Button arrow

AI isn't a service we bolt on. It's how we work. Every product we build runs on AI-native workflows — from research and design through engineering and iteration. Our dedicated AI Practice has delivered 22+ AI/ML systems in production, spanning conversational AI, computer vision, document processing, and agentic workflow automation. When you work with us, AI is already in the room.

What does a typical engagement look like?
Button arrow

It depends on where you are. We run fixed-scope projects for well-defined builds, time-and-materials for evolving product work, and dedicated team augmentation for clients scaling fast. Most engagements start with a scoping call, move into a discovery phase, and proceed to delivery in clearly defined milestones. We maintain 90%+ on-time, on-budget delivery — that's a six-year track record, not a claim.

Do you provide post-launch support?
Button arrow

Yes. Shipping is step one, not the finish line. We offer retainer-based maintenance for clients who need ongoing improvements, priority support, and a team that already knows the codebase. Many of our client relationships are multi-year — 95% retention doesn't happen without staying involved after launch.

What tech stack do you work in?
Button arrow

We're stack-agnostic and choose tools that fit the problem. Our teams are fluent across React, Node.js, Python, Django, .NET, AWS, Azure, GCP, and more — including IoT, blockchain, and enterprise platforms like Dynamics 365 and Salesforce. We hold 160+ cloud certifications across AWS, Microsoft, and Google. If you have an existing stack, we work in it. If you're starting fresh, we'll recommend what makes sense for your scale and budget.

What stage do you accept?
Button arrow

Pre-revenue to early-traction founders with a formed team and a testable hypothesis. You don't need a polished product — you need a clear problem, a defensible point of view, and the ability to move fast. We're more interested in founder quality than deck quality.

What makes the RightShift Accelerator different?
Button arrow

Most accelerators give you mentorship and a demo day. We give you a product studio. Every cohort company gets direct access to our engineering, design, and AI teams — the same team that has shipped 50+ products for founders and Fortune 500 clients. The program is built around building, not just advising. You leave with a real product and real traction, not a pitch deck and a list of introductions.

Do you take equity? What are the terms?
Button arrow

Yes, equity is part of how we structure select accelerator partnerships — it aligns our incentives with yours over the long term. Specific terms depend on your stage, what you're building, and the scope of involvement. We keep it straightforward. Apply or reach out and we'll walk you through exactly what a partnership looks like for your situation.

Is the program remote, in-person, or hybrid?
Button arrow

The program operates on a hybrid model. We're headquartered in Atlanta with a partnership with the Emory Hatchery, and we have teams operating across multiple time zones — so whether you're local or remote, you'll get full access to the program, the team, and the resources. In-person touchpoints are built into the structure for the moments where they matter most.

When is the next cohort?
Button arrow

Cohort dates and application windows are posted at rightshift.co/accelerator. If you want to know where you stand before the next cycle opens, submit an application or reach out directly — we review on a rolling basis and can often give you early feedback.

Do you provide post-launch support?
Button arrow

Yes. The program doesn't end at demo day. Cohort companies stay connected to the RightShift network — including access to the Product Studio for continued build work, the Ventures team for follow-on investment consideration, and the broader founder community from previous cohorts. We're built for the long arc, not a single sprint.

What happens after the program ends?
Button arrow

The best outcomes stay in the ecosystem. Strong cohort companies move into conversations with RightShift Ventures for potential investment, continue working with the Product Studio as they scale, and join a growing network of founders who've been through the program. We're not a one-and-done accelerator — the relationship is designed to compound over time.

What problems do you solve for large organizations?
Button arrow

We work with enterprise innovation teams on three common failure patterns: innovation programs that don't convert ideas to products, internal tools that stall in procurement, and AI adoption that lives in pilots but never reaches production. We build the thing and help you build the muscle.

How do you engage with enterprise security and compliance requirements?
Button arrow

It's built into how we work, not bolted on afterward. We have direct delivery experience with HIPAA, PCI-DSS, SOC 2, and FDA regulatory standards across production systems — not just familiarity with the frameworks. Our teams understand enterprise governance structures, SSO integration, identity management, and the stakeholder reporting requirements that come with building inside large organizations. Security reviews, code audits, and compliance documentation are part of our standard delivery process, not add-ons you have to ask for.

Can you work alongside our existing internal teams?
Button arrow

Yes — that's the default mode for most enterprise engagements. We operate as an embedded extension of your team, not a separate vendor stream running in parallel. We've worked directly alongside internal engineering, PMO, and executive teams at organizations like TuneCore, Verra Mobility, and Georgia Pacific. Our teams ramp in one to two weeks, work inside your tools and processes, and disappear into the workflow by design. You set the governance model; we operate within it.

What does the engagement structure look like?
Button arrow

It depends on what you need. For defined innovation initiatives, we work on fixed scope with clear milestones and deliverables. For ongoing augmentation or evolving programs, we run a time-and-materials model with flexible capacity — enterprise teams typically see 30–40% lower cost compared to equivalent full-time hires, with zero recruiting lag and no severance exposure. We also build in regular stakeholder reporting and governance touchpoints from day one, because enterprise buyers need visibility, not just output.

Do you have experience in our industry?
Button arrow

Most likely, yes. We've delivered across 11+ verticals including financial services, healthcare, transportation and mobility, manufacturing, PropTech, live events, nonprofit, retail logistics, and cybersecurity — working with clients ranging from early-stage companies to Fortune 500 enterprises. If you're in a regulated industry, we've almost certainly navigated its compliance requirements before. The fastest way to find out is to tell us your space — we'll point you to the relevant work we've done.

What is the Ventures Path?
Button arrow

Ventures Path is our co-investment vehicle. We invest alongside founders — typically in companies that have come through our Accelerator or Product Studio — combining capital with continued operational partnership. We don't take a passive position; we stay involved.

What check sizes do you write?
Button arrow

RightShift Ventures invests at the early stage, with check sizes calibrated to where a company is in its development and what the capital is being used to build. We're not a passive capital provider — our investment is designed to work alongside access to the full RightShift ecosystem: Product Studio execution, Accelerator resources, and our operator network. The combination is what makes the check meaningful. For specific terms and investment parameters, reach out directly at rightshift.co/ventures

Do I need to be an Accelerator alumni to receive investment?
Button arrow

No. Accelerator alumni have a natural path into the Ventures conversation, but it's not the only door. We evaluate companies across the portfolio and beyond — what matters is the founder, the market, and whether there's a genuine fit between what you're building and where we can add the most value. If you're raising and believe RightShift can be more than a check, we want to hear from you regardless of how you found us.

Are you open to co-investment from other VCs or angels?
Button arrow

Yes. We view co-investment as a feature, not a complication. The best rounds have aligned capital, and we're comfortable working alongside other institutional investors, angels, and strategic partners. If you're building a round and want to explore whether RightShift Ventures belongs in it, start the conversation at rightshift.co/ventures.
